Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use xsibility.com. This statement explains how we've built it, how we test it, and how to tell us when something doesn't work.
Our standard
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, which also covers WCAG 2.1 AA as required by the US Department of Justice’s ADA Title II rule.
Conformance status
We believe xsibility.com substantially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We test every page template before publishing and re-test the whole site each quarter. If we find something that doesn’t conform, we fix it — see “Known limitations” below for anything outstanding.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML with headings, landmarks, lists and tables used correctly, and a skip link on every page.
- Every function works with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator. We don’t use a sticky header, so focus is never hidden behind it.
- Text contrast of at least 7:1 for body text (above the AA requirement of 4.5:1) in both light and dark themes.
- Content reflows at 400% zoom and in narrow windows without horizontal scrolling, and tolerates increased text spacing.
- A highly legible typeface (Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, designed for low-vision readers), self-hosted.
- Targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels for most controls.
- Forms with visible, connected labels, clear error messages and an error summary.
- Respect for your system settings: light or dark color scheme, increased contrast, reduced motion and forced colors (Windows High Contrast).
- No content that flashes, autoplays or times out.
- The site works without JavaScript; scripts only enhance menus, forms and the cookie banner.
- No accessibility overlay.
How we test
- Automated testing with axe-core on every page at every build.
- Manual keyboard testing of every template and interactive component.
- Screen reader testing with NVDA (Firefox and Chrome on Windows), JAWS (Chrome) and VoiceOver (Safari on macOS and iOS).
- Zoom, reflow, text spacing, contrast and forced-colors checks.
Compatibility
The site is designed to work with recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and with current versions of NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dragon and Windows Magnifier and ZoomText.
Known limitations
- Third-party services. The contact form is processed by Formspree, and optional analytics (only if you accept them) are provided by Google. We can’t control these services’ own pages; if you have trouble, email or call us instead.
- External links go to sites we don’t control, including government and court websites, which may not be fully accessible.
